We look forward to welcoming Dan Basterfield to our programme of winter lectures.
Dan will enthrall us with his fascinating presentation –
‘Dissecting Bees Explained’
Come and find out what’s going on inside our bees and how we can help them to stay healthy.
Don’t forget about the National Honey Show … it makes a great day out and is easy to navigate.
See www.honeyshow.co.uk for further details
Our AGM provides a good opportunity to catch up with the latest news in the bee world. We look forward to welcoming Kevin Pope, our Seasonal Bee Inspector, who has agreed to give us an overview of his year … and if time permits to take questions from the floor.
Peter Crabbe, our Asian Hornet Action Team Co-ordinator will also provide an update on the preparations that are in hand pending the arrival of any reported local sightings of this pest …
The key officers from the Committee will also be presenting their annual reports.
See you there!
Carole and Sarah have been to Montreal in September ’19 to attend the international Apimondia event … they have offered to share some stories and observations from their experience during our annual Christmas social get together.
Please bring along a small plate of festive fare to share with friends … we will provide the drinks and mince pies.
See the December newsletter for further details.
For the last several years West Dorset and East Devon Bee Keepers have enjoyed a joint annual lecture in January.
This year it has been the turn of WDBKA to organise the event. We are pleased to invite members to join us for a talk by Wally Shaw. Please note that we have changed the venue from Whitchurch C to the Christian Fellowship Hall in Bridport. We hope that the event will be popular and well attended.
‘Self-sufficiency Locally Adapted Bee and Apoicentric Beekeeping’ is his subject for the evening.
Please come and share what promises to be an entertaining and informative session.
It is our turn to provide refreshements … so all contributions will be gratefully received.
